In a finished build, the roof vent is one of the last things anyone wants to think about — and one of the few that still asks you to get up and crank something. The Platinum takes the whole job: it senses the rain, holds the temperature you asked for, answers a remote, and lights the space underneath it when the sun goes down.
It lights the room, too
Dimmable LEDs are built into the trim ring, throwing even light down from the middle of the ceiling — where you actually want it. Run them bright for cooking and cleanup, or wind them down to something you can leave on while someone else sleeps.
One less fixture to specify, wire and find space for on a ceiling that’s already crowded.
Three things it handles without you
Set it once. The electronics take over from there, whether you’re asleep, out on the trail, or parked somewhere for the week.
The dome comes down on its own when rain hits the sensor, so an open vent is never the thing you’re worrying about when the sky turns.
Pick a cabin temperature and the fan adjusts its own speed to hold it — ramping up through the afternoon, backing off overnight.
The integrated rain hood shields the opening from rain and wind-driven spray, so you can keep air moving instead of sealing yourself in.
One fan, two jobs
Flip the direction and the same blade either pushes hot air out or draws fresh air in. Pair it with a cracked window or a second vent and you get a controllable cross-draught instead of a stuffy box.
Clears steam after a shower, smoke off the stove, and the heat that stacks up under the roof on a parked afternoon.
Draws cool night air straight over the bed, or feeds fresh air in while a rear vent or window does the exhausting.
Ten speeds, and the first few are silent
Ten blades move air with less blade-pass noise than a coarser six-blade wheel. Ten speed steps instead of five means you can actually find the setting that circulates air overnight without becoming the loudest thing in the van.
At the top of the range it’ll clear a hot cabin in a couple of minutes.
Talks to the rest of the coach
The remote is included, so speed, direction, dome and lights are all handled from the bed. RV-C support means the fan can also be driven from a coach control system rather than living as its own island.
Slide it across to kill the glare and cut the heat coming straight down through the dome — the same panel that helps hold warmth in on a cold night.
Two sealed pass-throughs in the base take solar leads, an internet antenna, TV coax or exterior lighting — a roof gland you don’t have to buy or cut for.
Seal the roof once
The base carries the sealant and the fasteners. The fan unit lives on top of it and lifts off. When you want a different model later, or a service unit goes in, the roof penetration never gets touched.
