Installation Instructions:

1. Prepare the Van

  • Park the van on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Raise the front of the van and support it securely with jack stands, or use a vehicle lift for easier access.

2. Position the Skid Plate

  • Lift the skid plate into position beneath the engine bay.
  • Align the front mounting holes with the factory threaded holes in the front crossmember.
  • Insert the factory bolts or reinstall the existing bolts if they were removed.
  • Hand tighten the bolts to hold the skid plate in position.

  • Confirm that the skid plate is centered and sits flush against the mounting surfaces.
  • Tighten the front and rear mounting bolts evenly to 30 to 35 ft lb.

5. Final Inspection

  • Verify that the skid plate is secure and does not interfere with nearby components.
  • Recheck the mounting hardware after the first trip on rough terrain or after approximately 60 to 125 miles (100 to 200 km).

Description:

Designed for compatible Mercedes-Benz Sprinter models, this engine skid plate helps protect the oil pan, steering components, crossmember, and front subframe from impacts caused by rocks, roots, snow, ice, and road debris. The formed 3/16" aluminum construction provides durable underbody protection while keeping the overall weight to a minimum.

The corrosion resistant aluminum plate mounts directly to existing factory attachment points without drilling, trimming, or additional brackets. Separate rear mounting positions accommodate the different subframe layouts used on 2019 to 2022 Sprinter 4x4 models and 2023 and newer Sprinter AWD models.
