Subaru Recovery Kit

The Subaru Recovery Kit is the kinetic recovery kit sized for crossovers and light rigs: Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Ascent, and Wranglers, Tacomas and UTVs in the 3,000 to 5,400 lb range. It is built around the one problem every crossover owner has, which is that the car came with no real recovery points.

What's in the bag

• 3/4 inch Kinetic-X kinetic recovery rope, 20 or 30 ft, 19,600 lb minimum break strength, stretches over 30 percent so the pull comes on soft
• Three 3/8 inch Hitch Hero soft shackles (36,000 lb MBS, 9,000 lb WLL): rig straight through a receiver tube or around an A-arm, with the guarded sleeve taking the metal edge
• Two 7/16 inch soft shackles (41,000 lb MBS, 10,250 lb WLL) for tow hooks and the rope's eyes
• 10 ft, 1/2 inch static bridle (29,000 lb MBS, 7,250 lb WLL) to spread a front pull across two points, or through both front wheels, so no single bracket takes the whole load
• Carrying bag, rope instruction brochure, the laminated Subaru kit guide card showing each setup, the Off-Road Recovery Cards deck, and stickers

Rope construction: nylon 6.6 double-braided core and jacket with a tight sheath that stretches with the core, reflective strands for night recoveries, double-dipped eyes. Every rope carries its production date on the tag.

Every Kinetic-X rope and shackle is pull-tested to failure by an independent lab in California before we publish a rating. Lifetime warranty under proper use, within the published service life, which starts the day it's shipped. Size the rope to the rig doing the pulling, by its loaded weight.
